Tack sharp zoom l lens. The body of the lens does show some signs of use.
The front element of the lens is perfect, though there is a tiny mark on the rear element which should be minor en. Ough not to effect image quality.
There is also signs of a little dust inside the lens, which again should be minor enough not to effect image quality. Reluctant sale, forced by redundancy.

And rear glass elements are in perfect condition. I would rate glass as perfect. Glass is free of dirt, fungus or haze. Aperture blades are free of oil.
Filter rim is in good condition. Smooth focus, all the way.
It feels like quality lens. Everything works as it should. Would rate it at 9.5 for cosmetics. And at 10 for performance on a scale of 10 “with mf mode”.

Canon ef 28-70mm f2.8 l. This is one of the best optical-quality lenses canon’s ever made. It’s the pro, l-series lens. The lens barrel shows some normal signs of use, but no dents, dings or scratches, there’s some paint loss around the area where the hood is being turned on and off. A few numbers fade a little in the inscription on barrel.
The lens hood does have some scuff marks and scratches. Zooming and focusing ring are working properly, af is accurate. Glasses are clean and clear, no scratches, haze or fungus, coatings are excellent. Comes with both front and rear caps and canon’s lens hood.

Canon Ef 28-70mm F/2.8l Usm Lens
Canon ef 28-70mm f/2.8 lens. Recently rebuilt rear attachment and lens barrel. Rebuilt by midstate camera repair in warwick, rhode island. Excellent working shape, smooth zoom and focus. Slight cosmetic scuff on the zoom, cosmetic wear at the end of the lens barrel. Pictures are the actual lens. Rebuilt rear attachment and lens barrel. Repair in warwick, rhode island. Frequent questions concerning the lens. It will not break down again because it was broken by the user (me) due to negligence and lack of camera bag. The zoom and focus are smooth. You can return it within seven days of receiving it. This is a used lens. There is dust on the interior glass.
That could probably be cleaned. After posting the listing and using it, more appeared. I believe this was came about after the rebuild.
I shot it at f/22 and none of the dust appeared on the image. There is one larger spec that isn’t dust. The front glass is unscratched, it has always had a filter on it. The rear glass has a few millimeter sized scratches on it. These do not show up in the images. I used this lens as a portrait lens previously. This lens is not pristine looking, but it works great. Cosmetic: this lens is in excellent working condition. No scratches were noticed on the body of the lens, only a few light scuff marks were seen on the front lens cap and some small scratches on the hood. Other than that, it is very new. Please refer to above photos for further details.
