This beautiful multicoated t/s arsat 80mm tilt-shift lens is brand new, manufactured in 2011 in the ukraine at the arsenal factory under photex brand, and features outstanding sharpness, contrast, color rendition and an exceptional sweeping view. This lens has clear glass, and exhibits absolutely no wipe marks or scratches on any of the lens elements. The focus mechanism turns smoothly throughout its range. The aperture ring clicks smoothly from stop to stop, and exhibits no sloppiness. The aperture blades show no signs of wear, nor any oil or grease.
There is no hazing, fogging, hatching or crazing on any of the lens elements. This lens has never been used, and is ready to deliver years of service. This lens will permit you to get into architectural photography without having to pay incredible high prices. When photographing architectural objects, the distance from the lens to upper and lower parts of the object is different. It would result in a distortion known as a âfalling buildingâ effect (the parallel vertical lines unnaturally come up to one point).
Similar problems arise when photographing a model on a catwalk, interiors, sculptures placed on high stands, paintings and architectural details located at an unreachable height. Tilt/shift (ts-pc) lens allows to compensate perspective distortion, to vary the depth of field and zone of sharpness and soften the image if necessary. I try to do my best, and offer the only fully checked items.

One of the internal elements towards the rear of the lens has a scratch on it. It’s not very strong, but it is quite long (it runs in an approximate spiral). This is likely from cleaning, although it’s possible that it was there when the lens was new.
As one would expect in a used lens, there is small amount of internal dust, including few small particles, but nothing problematic. Cosmetically the lens shows a lot of paint loss. On the barrel, the nose, and especially on the focusing ring and the aperture ring. The aperure ring also has a small nick on it.
The focusing has uneven feel to it – it gets tighter through part of its range, and it feels like there is dirt in the focusing helicoid. That said, the lens can be focused without any problems (one doesn’t need to force anything or do anything strange).
The aperture ring turns smoothly and clicks as it should. The blades work perfectly, but they have traces from oil and from friction on them (these traces seem to be mostly from friction).
The serial number is 23015. The distance scale is in both metres and feet. Comes with a plastic canon front cap and a canon rear cap (both caps show wear).
