Cameras such as the D5000 do not have a focus motor in it so they require the lens to have the focusing motor an AF-S lens. Nikon Af-s Zoom-nikkor G If-ed Vr 70-300mm F/4.5-5…
This is my personal lens, used with my d700 which is for sale in another listing. It has been a fantastic lens. I was way more impressed with it than i expected to be. It is definitely a sleeping giant. Although compact and light enough to fit in my bag, it has a large zoom range and very effective image stabilization.
I found myself commonly shooting at 1/30sec with this lens. It is very comfortable to carry around whenever i was out with just my camera and one lens.
Plus i could put a couple of single focal length wide angle lenses in my pockets, and i’d have full coverage. It is perfectly suited to an fx or a dx camera, or even a film camera which can use g type lenses. It is nicely sealed, even at the lens mount. The finish is very nice, and matches that of modern nikon digital slr’s. You will find many positive reviews of this lens on line if you look. Here is one from a tester whom i enjoy and respect. I bought the lens new from adorama in october 2009 and haven’t used it since july of last year. So i used it for about 9 months altogether. Nikon gear is a very good investment, especially af-s lenses for the fx format. Lens is in mint condition; t.
He front lens cap has some scratches on it, so i have rated the package mint-. The only other signs of use are on the hood and on the bayonet mount for the hood.
I always used the hood on the lens, so was frequently reversing it for storage, removing and remounting it, etc. There are no scuffs or scratches on the lens, no dents dings or cracks. The glass appears as new.
The switches, zoom, and focus rings work smoothly. The aperture blades are clean and snappy.
